Florida Resident Dies After Setting Himself on Fire Near Manhattan Courthouse During Trump Trial
In a tragic incident near the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse, Maxwell Azzarello, a Florida resident, died after setting himself on fire during former President Trump’s hush money trial. Azzarello was previously an Operations Director for Friends of Tom Suozzi in 2013 during Suozzi’s campaign for Nassau County Executive.
Representative Tom Suozzi, who currently represents Nassau County and parts of Queens, took office earlier this February. Azzarello’s LinkedIn page revealed that he worked on various projects for Suozzi’s campaign, including preparing the candidate for debates and organizing commercial shoots.
Eyewitnesses reported that Azzarello poured a flammable liquid on his body, threw pamphlets in the air with a link to his Substack page discussing conspiracy theories, and then set himself on fire. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed that Azzarello was pronounced dead around 9 hours after self-immolating.
Suozzi expressed his condolences to Azzarello’s family, describing him as kind, smart, and hardworking. However, Suozzi’s office did not immediately respond to requests for a statement on the incident.
Fox News Digital reporters contributed to this report, shedding light on the shocking events that occurred near the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse. The tragic death of Azzarello has left the community mourning and seeking answers to what led to such a devastating outcome.
