Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll will be returning to the leadoff spot in the lineup for Game 3 against the Texas Rangers. The Diamondbacks have been strategically rotating Carroll and Ketel Marte in the leadoff spot based on the opposing starting pitcher’s handedness.
Despite facing a left-handed pitcher, center fielder Alek Thomas will remain in the lineup for Game 3. The batting order for the Diamondbacks remains mostly unchanged from Game 2.
On the other side, the Texas Rangers are also making a lineup change for Game 3. Lefty rookie Evan Carter is being moved from the No. 3 spot to fourth, while Adolis Garcia is being bumped up a spot. Carter has had success against the Diamondbacks starters, while Garcia hit a solo home run in Game 1.
The Diamondbacks lineup for Game 3 will include Carroll, Marte, Gabriel Moreno, Christian Walker, Tommy Pham, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Thomas, Evan Longoria, and Geraldo Perdomo. Meanwhile, the Rangers lineup for Game 3 features Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia, Evan Carter, Mitch Garver, Jonah Heim, Nathaniel Lowe, Josh Jung, and Leody Taveras.
